About the Irish driving test data

The Road Safety Authority runs driving tests in Ireland, and the Central Statistics Office publishes its figures every month on PxStat. PassRank reads two tables:

  • ROA30: driving tests delivered and pass rate, by test centre, licence category and month, from January 2021. We use category B, cars.
  • ROA36: the estimated time to a driving test invite at the end of each month, by test centre, in weeks.

The CSO gives a pass rate per month, not a count of passes. Passes are worked out as tests × rate, and every yearly or 12-month rate on this site is weighted by the number of tests, so a busy month counts for more than a quiet one. The current year is the year so far and is labelled that way.

Test centre addresses and Eircodes come from the RSA’s own centre finder. A few names in the CSO tables belong to sites that have closed or are temporarily closed, such as Raheny since 18 September 2026; they are not listed. A centre is shown while it has run car tests in the last six months or has a published wait.

The figures are checked for new months every week. The latest month is August 2026.
